This video starts with the initial design process made live, without cuts, and then I share some fixes I had to do later on to make the model printable without any supports. If you just want to print this design, you can download this Christmas tree model for free on MyMiniFactory.
About this Design
A couple weeks ago I presented a live stream about 3D printing for beginners on Twitch, and I've meant to share the edited video on my new YouTube channel (please subscribe if you can, I still can't claim my own URL cause I don't have 100 subs yet).
I finally did some video editing to share the design process on Freecad to get this cute Christmas tree ready to print in vase mode, to be used as a table or tree decoration:
I plan on designing a few more Christmas decorations, please leave a comment if you would like to suggest something more specific!
By the way, I haven't tried to print it as a solid with infill, but that should work without problems. I chose to print it in vase mode because I wanted this translucent effect, and also because it's more lightweight. But for a table decoration you might want to give it some infill.
I hope you enjoy this video, and as usual please show your support by liking and sharing. See you next time!
